Can I get an 'Amen' for a recipe that isn't a recipe as long as it makes your life easier and turns your food into something that people will beg for?
"The thing is, you can hunt through your spices, smelling this or that and sprinkle a bunch of different things on your meat marinades, pasta dishes, salads, that you hope will be good- but this just saves time. #Efficiency. It's the perfect mix of salt, onion, umami and herbal flavor to compliment nearly all of it. You're welcome."
Notes: Mushroom Umami is a creation of Trader Joe's. All others can be purchased anywhere.
ALL-STAR SPICE BLEND
Ingredients: 2 tsp. Everything Bagel, 2 tsp. Chili-Lime (Tajin works great here), 2 tsp. Mushroom Umami, 2 tsp. dried parsley, 1 tsp. dried thyme.
1. Stir spices together and pour into mini container with lid, small mason jar with lid, or any old spice container you have that you have washed and dried out.
2. Label. Will keep for 6 months.
Tips: Sprinkle over home-baked fries or potato salad- anything creamy. Hummus, dips. Add as a garnish to soups and stews. Make your own epic croutons by cubing old bread, tossing in olive oil and All-star blend, and baking off low and slow until crispy-golden. Any meat or fish can be plunked into a zip-lock baggie with a couple teaspoons of the blend and a drizz of oil and dash of lemon juice or beer or wine for a stellar marinade.
