Every now and then I want/need a daiquiri. Part of it is nostalgia, my first of-age drink that I ordered was a daiquiri, (wearing my hair up with a blazer because I thought I needed to look older). Part is they are darn tasty. And cherries actually have so much more fruity flavor then strawberries, (I still don't understand why strawberry daiquiris became the thing).
This one uses frozen cherries which is fabulous because you can find them year-round and don't need to use ice - which in my opinion is hard on blenders and waters down the drink anyway. You will love this drink!
"This drink is super festive, the bubbles are gently sparkly- really fun to drink."
Notes: Agave nectar is Kirkwood.
CHERRIES IN THE SNOW BUBBLING DAIQUIRI
Ingredients: 3 cups frozen cherries, 2 cups cherry juice, 3 shots rum, 2 tbsp. agave nectar, soda water, lime curls, decorator's sugar.
1. Run the cut end of a lime around the rim of a low-ball glass, dip the glass into decorator's sugar. I used a mix of red and white. Use a peeler to make some lime zest curls.
2. Set aside 6 frozen cherries. To a blender add: the remaining cherries, cherry juice, agave and rum. Blend until smooth.
3. Pour daquiri into glasses, pop in a few whole frozen cherries and lime curls. Top with a splash of soda water.
