So, yeah, yam fries. Besides being really delicious, they are delightfully quick to prepare and a great healthy alternative when you are craving fries or want a fast side for your summer burger or grilled chicken. (or anything for that matter)

What I love about these fries is the subtle seasoning that brings out the yam's sweetness, without being overly salty or spicy. They are simple and so good.

"These are epic dipped in a 50/50 mixture of mayo and BBQ sauce."

Notes: Paprika is regular, not smoked.


Ingredients: 3-4 medium yams-peeled and sliced into sticks, 1 Tbsp. olive oil, 1/4 tsp. pink sea salt, 1/4 tsp. paprika, 1/4 tsp. cinnamon, pinch of pepper.

Serves 4

1. Preheat oven to 400* and line an baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Toss the yam fries with the olive oil and spices until well coated, tumble onto baking sheet.

3. Roast for 15 minutes, turning once.

4. Turn the oven up to 450* and cook for 5-7 minutes longer, until edges are just beginning to blacken. Serve immediately, with fresh torn parsley if desired.

Tip: Press the yam fries with paper towel to remove excess moisture, this will help with the browing.
