PALESTINIAN-SPICED BLACK BEAN DIP

I have a love for Middle Eastern cuisine, especially dips and spreads. This is my take on Bean Dip that has vacationed in Palestine. Za'atar, cilantro, lime, tahini- all ideal flavors that go to together swimmingly... like Fig Trees in Jerusalem.

"There are many ways to eat this, that is, the vehicle choice. Pita chips, sesame crackers, bread sticks, tortilla chips, raw veggies, etc. Pick your fave and go with it."

Notes: Za'atar is a Middle Eastern spice blend that you can find at Whole Foods and Amazon.

PALESTINIAN BLACK BEAN DIP

Ingredients: 1can black beans, drained, 1/4 cup Greek yogurt, 1 tsp. za'atar, 2 Tbsp. lime juice, 1 tsp. minced garlic, 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, 1 tsp. chili garlic paste, 1/2 tsp. sea salt, 1 tsp. tahini, chopped green onion. Serves 4-6.

1. Blitz all ingredients except the green onion together in a food processor until smooth, about 5 minutes. Scrape down the sides ever so often.

2. Serve in a bowl with a smattering of torn fresh cilantro and the green onion.

Tip: You can serve this dip warm, if you prefer. Pop into the micro for two 30-second intervals, stirring between. Then top with the cilantro leaves and green onion.
